On May 17th - 20th Dane and I took a much needed VACATION to California! This was our first actual vacation in our whole 3.5 years of marriage. Oh man, we loved it! Our plan was to stay in Anaheim, and then travel around to the different beaches nearby and go to LA for a day. We stayed in Anaheim so I could be close to Disneyland, even though we didn't actually go there haha.
One thing we wanted to do for this trip was visit a few restaurants from Food Network's "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives". The places we chose didn't disappoint!
First stop was in Victorville, California to a truly Dive-y looking place. It's called Emma Jean's Holland Burger. The whole place had maybe 12 seats? Two employees. It was crazy. But holy cow it was sooooo good! I got the David Burger. It was sourdough garlic bread with a 1/4 lb hamburger and a sweet green pepper. To. Die. For. Dane got a bacon chicken sandwich.

Super happy that we're actually at a place Guy Fierri visited himself! So cool!
Check out the crazy tiny dining room! We were seated in the back corner at the counter. Small place, but still a fun atmosphere.
The next DDD restaurant we visited was in Manhattan Beach, California. This place was called North End Diner. Dane said he ate the best sandwich he's ever had while we were there. I got another hamburger. I'm kicking myself now for getting pretty much the same thing at both DDD places haha. But it was great food also. Only complaint about this place was that it was so expensive. I think we paid $30 buck for this meal. Yikes. But worth it.
Doesn't my plate look pretty similar to my other? Haha. Oh well. It was good. Their sauce for the fries was a mixture of ranch and barbecue sauce. I'm going to try that again!
We did a lot of other fun things while we were in California. We visited Redondo Beach and Newport Beach. Redondo is one of our new favorite places to visit! We got to see a Dodger game in LA. We also visited Griffith Observatory that overlooks LA. It was a pretty cool place! I'll let our pictures share the rest of the trip.
No way are we waiting another 3.5 years for our next vacation!
